Running analysis · Farmers Branch, TX

Running analysis in Farmers Branch that finds why it keeps coming back

Most gait analyses film your stride and stop there. Video shows what's happening when you run. It can't tell you why. A running analysis at Revenant is a full hour, one on one, testing the strength, capacity and movement your running depends on, so you know what to change before you add miles.

Not all gait analysis is the same

What most gait analysis misses

Form matters, but it usually isn't the main reason runners break down. A recent injury and quick jumps in training load are bigger drivers, and neither shows up on video.

A running store fitting

Watches you on a treadmill to help you pick a shoe. Useful for fit and comfort. It isn't built to find why you keep getting hurt.

A treadmill video

Shows foot strike, step rate and how your hips and knees move for a couple of fresh minutes. It can't show whether your calf, hip or tendon can handle the miles.

A Revenant running analysis

Your history, your training load, whole-body movement, strength muscle by muscle and hop testing. Video comes in when it helps answer a question, not as the whole answer.

Inside the hour

What's in your running analysis

Not every runner gets every test. Where we start depends on you and what keeps breaking down.

1

Your injury history and training load

What's flared before, how it was handled, and what changed recently in mileage, speed, hills, terrain or shoes. Spikes here usually come right before a breakdown.

2

How you move, not just how you run

A whole-body movement screen, plus coordination and range of motion. How well you control and reach positions shapes everything that follows.

3

Strength and capacity, muscle by muscle

Calf, soleus, hamstrings, quads, inner and outer hip, tested for how much work each can handle. Weak links here tend to show up as pain somewhere else once the miles climb.

4

Hop and bounce testing

Running is repeated bouncing on one leg, so we test that directly with hop tests like single leg pogos.

5

Watching you run, when it helps

Once we know what we're looking for, I may film a few strides on my phone in slow motion to check one specific thing. No software, no treadmill marathon.

6

A plan you leave with

Why it hurts, what's driving it, what to change in your training this week, and how to build back to the runs and races you want.

Why runners come here

Built for runners who keep hitting the same wall

If you can run, but you can't actually train without something flaring, this is the hour that figures out why.

1

A full hour, one on one

Every visit is 60 minutes with the same Doctor of Physical Therapy. No techs, no splitting time between three patients.

2

A real gym

The clinic is inside Luna Fitness Studio, a working gym. We test and load you the way running actually asks your body to work.

3

Keep running when you can

If your symptoms settle by the next morning, we usually keep you running and adjust the dose instead of shutting you down.

4

Strength comes first

A more capable body handles more miles, more speed and more race days. Comprehensive strength work is built around your running, not instead of it.

What runners say

★★★★★

“I am an amateur marathon runner and want to run all 50 states… After my initial session I was provided a pre run movement plan and have been executing that plan and have even run a marathon without the pain.”

★★★★★

“I had been dealing with ongoing hip pain for a few years that would flare up periodically, especially after longer runs… he actually connected the dots and realized my pain was likely coming from compensation patterns from a previous injury… my pain hasn't returned.”

Berkley P.

Runner, hip pain

★★★★★

“I had been dealing with multiple chronic ankle/knee issues from running and had tried every treatment imaginable with temporary relief but not any long term change… Not only is my pain gone, but my performance on runs has gotten significantly better even compared to before the injuries.”

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What is a running analysis at Revenant?

It's a 60 minute, one on one evaluation built for runners. We go through your injury history and training load, screen how you move, test strength and capacity muscle by muscle, test hopping, and watch you run when it helps. You leave knowing why it hurts and what to change.

Do you film me running?

Sometimes. Once we know what we're looking for, I may take a short slow motion video on my phone to check something specific. There's no software and no long treadmill session, because video alone can't show why you keep getting hurt.

How is this different from a running store gait analysis?

A running store watches your stride to help you choose a shoe, which is useful for fit and comfort. A running analysis here tests the strength, capacity and movement your running depends on, to find why the same injury keeps coming back.

Do I have to stop running?

Usually not. If pain shows up during or after runs and settles by the next morning, we usually keep you running and adjust volume and intensity. If it changes how you run, hurts at rest or makes everyday movement painful, we pull back first and rebuild.

Where is the running analysis done?

At Revenant Physical Therapy, inside Luna Fitness Studio at 11488 Luna Rd, Farmers Branch, TX 75234, a few minutes off LBJ Freeway. Runners come from Irving, Carrollton, Addison, Coppell, North Dallas, Plano and Frisco.

Do you take insurance?

No. Revenant is cash-based and out-of-network, so every session is 60 minutes and one on one. Superbills are available on request.
